The Artists

After writing The Adventures of Cordell, I went on the hunt for talented artists who could bring this story to life in an exceptional way. I finally found my dream team in Geoff Crowe and Mikki Nylund. As a gifted Illustrator, Geoff put the essence of my ideas on paper by meticulously drawing every sketch by hand before adding watercolor to complete each picture. As we collaborated on the key elements of character development and scene creation, Mikki’s expertise as an accomplished Graphic Designer enhanced these images with captivating concepts and layouts.

The Illustrator

Geoff Crowe has had the good fortune of painting and sculpting on three continents. He grew up in California and has lived in Southern Indiana, Puerto Rico, and Ireland. Currently, his home and art studio are in Louisville, Kentucky. Geoff works in multiple mediums, one of which is the use of ink and watercolors as seen in his children’s book illustrations. He and his wife Shannon are dedicated advocates of animal rescue, and they provide a loving home to three dogs and eleven cats.

The Graphic Designer

Mikki Nylund lives in Brooklyn where he and his girlfriend (Helen) along with their cat (Fritz) share an art studio. Mikki grew up in Scandinavia, studied visual art and writing, and has been working as an Art Director for most of his life. When he's not working, Mikki enjoys painting and helping to manage a thriving community garden located in the heart of his Brooklyn neighborhood.
